Formal training in dental school and residency often provides limited exposure to practice development, the business of oral and maxillofacial surgery and all the options available to start a career. This session is designed to bridge that gap by exploring multiple career options such as academics, associateships, start-up practices, practice acquisitions and dental service organizations.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Describe the benefits, shortcomings and differences between academics and private practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
