Dr. Baber Khatib, is an OMFS board certified by both the Canadian and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed dental school at the University of Alberta, Canada, and OMFS residency at University of California San Francisco. He completed fellowships in Advanced Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Reconstruction as well as Head and Neck Oncologic Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery in Portland OR.
Currently he works at the Head and Neck Surgical Associates in Portland Oregon where he serves as the director of 3D Printing and Digital Innovation. Additionally, he is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of OMFS at Oregon Health Science University.
Dr. Khatib regularly applies technology and 3D printing to his dental implant, orthognathic, trauma and reconstruction practice. He is an innovator and has found novel applications of 3D printing which includes performing the first cancer “Jaw in a Day” on the west coast, simultaneously replacing a cancerous jaw with a leg bone (fibula), implants and 3D printed teeth.
He has a special interest in using 3D printing and navigation to give smiles back to those who deserve it most – trauma and cancer patients.
