Nisarg Patel, DMD, MD, MBI, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and assistant professor at the University of California, San Francisco, where he holds appointments in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Division of Clinical Informatics and Digital Transformation. His research builds evaluation frameworks and benchmarks that measure how foundation models reason under clinical uncertainty, including calibration, reliability, and safety, and studies how clinical, imaging, and genomic data can predict treatment response in head and neck pathology. He previously cofounded Memora Health, an enterprise digital care navigation company acquired by Commure, and worked on the life sciences investment team at Bessemer Venture Partners. He earned his MD and completed his surgical training at UCSF; he holds a DMD and a Master of Biomedical Informatics from Harvard.
