Dr. Matthew Ryan, DDS, is a PGY-3 Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and is currently completing medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as part of his oral and maxillofacial surgery training.
Originally from San Jose, California, Dr. Matthew Ryan developed an early interest in healthcare, surgery, and patient-centered care. His clinical and academic interests within oral and maxillofacial surgery include dentoalveolar surgery, facial trauma, and head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction. Throughout his training, he has been involved in clinical research and resident education and is committed to advancing evidence-based patient care within the specialty.
As a resident at one of the nation's busiest academic medical centers, Dr. Matthew Ryan has gained extensive experience managing a broad range of oral and maxillofacial surgical conditions while working alongside multidisciplinary teams. He is honored to present his work at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Annual Meeting.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Matthew Ryan enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his girlfriend and dog, including frequent trips to the beach.
