Vincent Edwin DiFabio, DDS, MS is an Associate Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Cental and University of Maryland School of Dentistry teaching OMS Residents and Dental Students. Dr. DiFabio is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon by the American Board of OMS having Graduated from the Universuty Rochester School of Dentisrty and Medicine in New York with a Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Master of Science degree in Dental Research/Pathology. Since 2014, Dr. DiFabio has been involved as co-director of the TMJ-ED Mini Surgical Residency Program. This program is designed to offer participants cadaveric experience in TMJ Surgery to include arthroscopic surgery and TMJ Total Joint Replacement. Dr. DiFabio has presented at many scientific meetings on TMJ Disorders and TMJ Surgery both national and international. He has slao published many TMJ Disorder articles and book chapters over the past years and served on the AAOMS TMJ Guidelines Committee producing the AAOMS White Position Paper on TMJ Disorders (JOMS 2024) and the AAOMS TMJ Guidelines Work (JOMS 2024). Dr. DiFabio has also been active in TMJ Committee work for AAOMS and the ASTMJS over the past 7 years. Several of these Oraganizations include the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, The National Academies of Science, Medicaine and Engineering (TMJ Disorders Forum) and the TMJ Association.(TMJ Disroders Round Table). In Dr. DiFabio's active AAOMS time he was involved in many activities including working with the members of US Congress and Senate attending many fundraisers over the years (OMSPAC Member and Chair) and also working the politics of AAOMS as a Alternate Delegate from Maryland, then Delegate from Maryland, and AAOMS District II Chair and AAOMS DIstrict II Board of Trustees, Member. Dr. DiFabio recently retired from Clincial Private Practice of OMS but continues to enjoy working with the OMS Residents and Dental Students at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, also his Dental School Alma Mater.
