Dr. Steven M Sullivan, DDS FACS. Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma completed dental school at Baylor COllege of Dentistry in 1983 and oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the University of Oklahoma in 1988. He did additional training at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Austrailia following his residency. He was on the faculty at the University of Michigan, Hennepin COunty Medical Center/ University of Minnesota before returing to the University of Oklahoma in 1992 to become Department Chair and Program Director. He was Chair of the Department until 2023 and remains on faculty. HIs practice in limited exclusively to orthognathic surgery and tempormandubular joint reconstruction. He has performed over 5000 orthognathic and TMJ cases in his career. He was a pioneer in case pricing in the early 1990's when insurance coverage for orthognathic surgery was nearly impossible to obtain and been a strong advocate for case cost managment to ensure the specialty is providing exceptional results in the most cost efficient manner.
