Karen Daw is an award-winning national speaker, consultant, and author affectionately known as The OSHA Lady. With dual master’s degrees in Business and Healthcare Administration, she specializes in helping dental, oral surgery, and medical practices simplify compliance, reduce regulatory exposure, and build cultures of safety that protect patients, providers, and the practice's long-term stability.
A two-time national speaking champion, Karen is recognized for her edu-taining style that blends humor, real-world clinical scenarios, and practical risk-management strategies into sessions surgeons and practice leaders find immediately applicable. She has been featured on 20/20, two Netflix specials, and The Doctors for her outside-the-box thinking and has spoken to thousands of dental and medical professionals nationwide.
Karen previously served as the Assistant Director of Sterilization Monitoring and Clinic Health and Safety Director for The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where she led initiatives in OSHA, CDC compliance, infection prevention, and clinical risk oversight. Today, she partners with practices, hospitals, and specialty groups to deliver programs that move beyond “check the box” compliance and toward operational confidence, inspection readiness, and measurable risk reduction.
She also works directly with oral and maxillofacial surgery practices to present CE programs on their behalf for referring dentists and team members, strengthening referral relationships while reinforcing high standards of clinical compliance.
