Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) utilizes evidence-based protocols to accelerate recovery, reduce complications and improve patient satisfaction. This plenary explores some crucial elements of ERAS protocols as they pertain to oral and maxillofacial surgery and anesthesia.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Employ appropriate strategies to prevent and treat postoperative nausea and vomiting.
  2. Select effective multimodal analgesia combinations.
  3. Select anesthetic techniques that optimize postoperative recovery.
  4. Tailor anesthetic techniques to minimize postoperative neurocognitive deficit.
