Dr. Jonathan Burke has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery for almost 30 years. He graduated with honors from Temple University School of Pharmacy and was a practicing pharmacist while attending Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. After earning his DMD at Temple in 1989, he went on to complete his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Temple University Hospital. His training included residency at Pennsylvania Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pa., and Cooper University Hospital in Southern New Jersey.
He cofounded Cooper Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons while a Professor of Surgery at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Burke was the first surgeon in the Delaware Valley to pioneer the placement of craniofacial implants for bone-anchored hearing aids and the use of the patient’s own stem cells for complex bone grafting techniques, eliminating painful bone procurement donor sites.
