This session encompasses 24 years and more than 2500+ cases of soft-tissue complications associated with orthognathic surgery. While orthognathic surgery is skeletal surgery in which the goal is re-establishing a balanced face and class 1 occlusion, OMSs work in a facial soft-tissue envelope. As such, complications may occur intra- and postoperatively. This session reviews the complications one surgeon has had as well as advice on avoiding and managing such complications.
